At Crafting For Christ, your safety is our top priority. While playing on our Minecraft server and connecting with others, it’s important to remember how to stay safe online. Following these simple tips will help you enjoy your time, stay healthy, and protect yourself from harm.

Here are some key "Do's" and "Don'ts" to help you make smart choices while playing Minecraft and interacting with others online.

For the Players

If something feels wrong, tell a mod. You're not tattling, you're looking after people.

✅ What to Do:

• Stay in Group Conversations: It’s always better to chat with other players in a group setting rather than one-on-one, especially if they’re older. Staying in groups helps you feel safe and keeps things open and honest.
• Report Uncomfortable Situations: If someone says or does something that makes you feel uncomfortable, or if they ask for personal information, don’t reply. Instead, use the /report command to let the Staff Team know what happened. Your safety comes first! See what happens after you report.

❌ What Not to Do:

• Don’t Keep Silent About Problems: If someone is bothering you or being rude, don't keep it to yourself. Always report it to the Staff Team. You don’t have to deal with bad behavior alone.

✅ What to Do:

• Keep Your Personal Information Private: Never share details like your real name, home address, phone number, or school with anyone online. Even if someone seems nice, it's always safer to keep your personal information to yourself.

❌ What Not to Do:

• Don’t Share Passwords or Login Info: Never give out your passwords or account details to anyone, even friends. Keeping your account secure is important to protect your personal information and in-game items.
• Don’t Download from Untrusted Links: If someone sends you a link for a download—like a mod, texture pack, or anything else—make sure it’s from a source you trust. Downloads from unknown sources could contain viruses that harm your device or steal your information.

Warning Signs to Watch For

Most people you meet online are exactly who they say they are. But some people pretend to be friendly because they want something from you. Be careful if someone:

• Asks you to keep a secret, especially from your parents or other adults.
• Wants to move somewhere private, like direct messages, a different app, or a server where staff can't see.
• Asks personal questions, like how old you are, where you live, what school you go to, or for photos of you.
• Gives you gifts for no reason, like items, ranks or money, and then acts like you owe them.
• Says they're the only one who understands you, or tries to turn you against your friends or family.
• Makes you feel like you'll be in trouble if you tell anyone about them.

If any of this happens, stop replying. Tell an adult you trust, and report it with /report or a support ticket. You won't be in trouble for telling.

For Parents

We prioritize the safety of every player, including your children. Below is what you should know, and what to avoid, while your kids enjoy playing with us.

✅ What to Do:

• Use Server Tools: On Crafting For Christ, players can use the /report command to flag inappropriate behavior or dangerous situations. Make sure your child knows how to use these tools to protect themselves. The in-game /report command doesn't need a Discord account.
• Contact Us Directly If You're Worried: Email [email protected] to reach senior staff, or open a support ticket on our Discord with /support create. A ticket is also the way to hear back about a report, since /report doesn't send updates.
• Consider Agreeing on Session Length: Some families find it helps to agree how long a session will be before play starts. This is only a suggestion, not a server rule.
• Know What We Keep: Chat logs are kept server-side so staff can check reports. For what we store and how it's handled, see our Privacy Policy.

❌ What Not to Do:

• Don’t Allow Unsupervised Chats: Discourage your child from engaging in private one-on-one conversations, especially with people they don't know. Group conversations are safer, as they provide more transparency and reduce the risk of inappropriate behavior.
• Don't Assume Voice Chat Is Supervised: Voice channels on our Discord are not recorded, and staff are not usually listening in. Voice is for people who already know each other.
• Don't Assume Staff Can See Direct Messages: Private messages on Discord are only visible to the people in them, not to staff. If something happens in a direct message, a screenshot and a report are how staff find out.
